Memo 5
Trainers -
Our training family continues to expand here at InTraining and there are new faces regularly. I continue to be impressed at the malleability of each of you. I want to express my gratitude to the veteran trainers here for the flexibility and welcoming atmosphere. To the new trainers, thank you for the injection of energy.
Each trainer is going to have their own rhythm and schedule so ‘all staff’ type meetings aren’t realistic. But please know, it’s not that I’m just willing to answer questions, I expect you to ask. Each of you have a responsibility to know the policies and community expectations here. With that being said, I thank each of you for representing yourselves very well here. It has been a pleasure working with each of you.
Parking in the Back
Where you choose to park your car is extraordinarily low on my priority list. In fact, I cannot think of anything that matters less to me. There are two ways for me to approach allowing trainers to park in the back. One is simple, and more appealing to me the more and more I have to hear about the parking, which is to disallow it altogether. The second is to allow autonomy and provide small perk. Thus far I have taken the second approach. This will immediately change if one person takes up two spots even one more time. DO NOT TAKE TWO SPOTS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. If you are running in and out, don’t park there. If you don’t want to be parked in, don’t park there. I will not talk about parking with anyone anymore. The next time there will be a parking update it will be to disallow parking in the back completely. The world is too interesting to discuss parking (ever again).
Trainer Video Bio’s for the Website
We will have a website launching fairly soon. Each trainer is invited to have her or his own profile on the website. It is for you to market and promote yourself. For anyone who has not provided a picture and wants to be on the site please get me a picture ASAP (lots of you did this months ago). Next I need a *short video* of you that is representative of who you are as a trainer. I think there is a lot of room for creativity and expression here so I don’t want to over-instruct, but it should be appealing to people visiting the site and looking for a trainer. I would be happy to strategize and discuss this with anyone looking for guidance and inspiration. I cannot more forward with the site until I have the videos.
Thank You, Paul
